Smart Design Painting is James and Ian, two painters with 75 years of combined experience between them. We used to do large-scale construction work, but that world is stitched up by the big players, high stress and low margin. So we moved into residential repaints, where the work is better and the standard is entirely ours to set.
We're a two-man crew on purpose. No subbies, no rotating faces, no chasing volume. James quotes every job, often checking the listing before he even drives out, so what you're told upfront is what you actually pay. Ian's out west near Kingaroy as much as he's in town, and between local Toowoomba jobs and the long-haul work out to Bundaberg and Quilpie, we go where the job's worth doing.
We'd rather knock a job back than undercut ourselves, and we've been burned by unreliable hires before, which is exactly why we're keeping the crew small. No hype, no promises we can't back up. Just two painters who care how the job turns out.
